When the Doctor is the Killer
June 25 the year 2009, the world received with shock and disbelief that the king of pop Michael Jackson was dead.
As a surprise, it came to many since he was rehearsing for his biggest and last tour ever,'This is It'.
From the sound of things , Michael must have been in tip-top shape to endure the rigorous process that comes with such rehearsals and tours.
Conrad Murray his 'trusted' Doctor was in charge of the singer's health. That he administered a high dosage of propofol(propofol-heavy sedative used in surgeries) that sent Michael to sleep forever was painful, infuriating and defeating beyond comprehension. Michael died of acute propofol and benzodiazepines(anti-anxiety drugs) which Murray refused to take responsibility of in its place blaming Michael that he(Michael) self-administered the overdose. Michael had serious insomnia issues.
The courts found him guilty and was jailed for four years but released after two years on grounds of good behavior.
What's to be done when a trusted individual (Doctor) is the killer?

Well causing death in the process of protecting you is permissible,
ReplyDeleteKnowingly ?His body language suggests 'gloating within '..
DeleteThat not withstanding. Client and be informed of the possibility of risk to life
DeleteEthics are seriously lacking in such scenarios..best hope is to pray and hope yours isnt the killer!
ReplyDeleteVery unfortunate.
ReplyDeleteEthics and morality govern how one acts professionally and in life. Further is respect for the sanctity of life. The minute these come into question then the victim will always be in danger
ReplyDeleteProfessional ethics and be upheld at all time, most important by doctors whom we entrust lives to. If professional misconduct is proved, then they should be held accountable
ReplyDeleteIf it is a crime, the law must take its full course.... No other way round...
ReplyDeleteThere's no excuse for lack of professionalism in any sphere.
ReplyDeleteThat's passive killed in humanity
ReplyDeleteWoi...this is crazy scary. I hope my doctor isn't a killer...God for us all!
ReplyDeleteIf a doctor is found to have committed an offence of murder the normal legal justice system should be followed if it was not a case of Euthanasia.
ReplyDeleteSo unfortunate
ReplyDeleteI loved MJ, he was the king of pop...remembered I shed tears. Pissed at the doctor but it is what it is.
ReplyDeleteThe doctor should be jailed for a good number of years , because he should be responsible and should satisfy all the drugs that M.J takes . The doctor was not serious with his job.
ReplyDeleteSo I was thinking if Michael's doctor can mess up what about my doc? Wait I don't even have a specific doc, this is terrible😥😥
ReplyDeleteSo unfortunate, where should we run to, misdiagnosis and wrong medication happened to someone very close to me..
ReplyDeleteWe have no option but to turn back to our ancestors for their great knowledge in medicine. We have to pass it down to other generations, we cannot depend on a society driven by greed. Traditions are not setbacks they can actually be life savers.
